Determine boiler size based on the area and age of the dwelling
Here you can find the required boiler size (boiler performance) based on your annual oil consumption or annual gas consumption
If the annual oil / gas consumption is not known, you can find the required boiler size based on the area and age of the dwelling.
Based on the age of the house and the desired heated area, the required boiler size can be read in the table below. Estimated power for hot water and loss (2 kW) is included.
The table shows the required boiler performance both for a house that meets the building regulations requirements for insulation and for the older and poorly insulated house.
If an oil furnace is included in the installation, it can be used as a spare in particularly stressed situations. In this case, the boiler can be sub-dimensioned to e.g. 75% of the dimensioned heat loss (lower limit).
